The apprentice that attends the most Union meetings in 2018 will be the winner of the tool bag and everything in it. There will be a minimum of at least six meetings attended to qualify to win. If no apprentice attends the six meetings it will be carried over to the following year. In the event of a tie, the names will be thrown into a hat with the winners name drawn at the December meeting.
Anyone is free to donate to the tool bag if you wish.

With all the talk about Whitefish in the news, the Montana contractor restoring the electric grid in Puerto Rico, I thought I might pass along some information.
First, restoration has begun in Puerto Rico. Local Union 349, Miami, has the inside jurisdiction and currently has a full-time agent on site to assist in the coordination of the workforce. Local Union 222, Orlando, has the outside jurisdiction. If you have members interested in working in Puerto Rico, please have them contact the appropriate local union.
Regarding Whitefish, they are a signatory outside contractor with Local Union 768, Kalispell, MT. They have performed numerous transmission jobs in the 8th District. They currently employ approximately 300 men in Puerto Rico working on the grid restoration. I am sure everyone from Congress to the news media will continue to put Whitefish under the microscope on how they were awarded the project. But remember, they are employing IBEW linemen and they are getting the job done.
